Services: Move Management

Minimize business disruption.
Reduce risk.
Manage logistics and change.

Management Alternatives (M/A) eliminates the risk and anxiety associated with relocation by applying order to chaos.

We begin with a rapid discovery process by using our proprietary 1,800-item relocation checklist. We quickly identify the specific requirements within the total project scope. By applying our extensive experience and proven systems, we minimize the risk of disruption to your organization.

At M/A, we have developed a proprietary Asset Tracking Database (ATD) that provides an inventory of all assets and items impacted by the move. We use it to manage and control corporate assets during the move process.

We also provide critical coordination and communication with vendors. From phones to central files to multimedia collections, we manage it all according to your specifications. We can handle vendor procurement and supervise the installation of all equipment and furnishings.

Our Move Management Services include:

Inventory and Asset Tracking Database (ATD)
The ATD allows M/A to track the inventory of all office and technical furniture and equipment. This helps us plan and control the actual move. The ATD can be used for asset management to facilitate evaluation of existing furniture for reuse.

Vendor and Services Procurement
Proper procurement of move-related vendors is time consuming, yet critical. M/A has over 20 years of experience developing competitive RFPs, analyzing responses, recommending vendors, negotiating contracts and monitoring contract compliance.

Moving Services Procurement
When the time comes to select a moving company, M/A will:
  • Prepare specifications;
  • Issue a competitive RFP;
  • Evaluate responses to the RFP;
  • Recommend a moving company; and
  • Assist with contract negotiations.
Vendor Coordination
M/A coordinates the installation of equipment such as:
  • Telephones;
  • Computers;
  • Cabling;
  • Office equipment;
  • Copiers; and
  • Mail equipment.
We coordinate the installation of specialty areas such as:
  • Training facilities;
  • Food service;
  • Libraries;
  • Central files;
  • Broadcast studios;
  • Hearing rooms;
  • Digital tape facilities;
  • Multimedia collections; and
  • Research laboratories.
Move Coordination
M/A plans the physical move with the selected mover. In addition, we conduct staff briefings, prepare move packets for all client personnel and label all of the furniture and equipment to be relocated.

On-Site Activities and Post-Move Services
M/A teams prepare the new space for the move, act as your on-site representative and provide staff to supervise the physical move. In addition, we provide an inventory of all relocated furnishings to verify their successful arrival.

After the move, we continue our support by working with vendors to resolve move claims or other damages and verifying vendor invoices for payment. Our Post-Move Welcome Desk helps your staff settle into their new space and resolve any Punch List closeout issues that remain.
