    Project Overview
Management Alternatives' (M/A) initial task for Latham & Watkins (L&W) focused on the development of a Relocation Plan. Through interviews that focused on firm operations with key L&W department and practice group representatives, M/A developed a Relocation Plan tailored specifically to meet L&W's need to minimize disruption to client service during the course of the move.

M/A met regularly with the L&W Relocation Planning Team to track completion of critical project milestone activities. A Move Committee, consisting of representatives from each department and firm practice group, assisted the L&W Relocation Planning Team. The Move Committee was responsible for executing the detailed planning at the attorney level to successfully transition the law firm to the new space with minimal downtime. Through members of the Move Committee, M/A managed a Purge Campaign to reduce records in the firm prior to the move.

    Ongoing Management, Continuous Communication
M/A managed the procurement process for the moving and technology services companies, issued a request for proposal for services, managed the bid process, evaluated responses, recommended a bidder and assisted with contract negotiations.

We managed all facets of delivery coordination and vendor tracking for activities at the new location. Serving as Dockmaster, M/A scheduled and accepted all non-construction-related deliveries to the new space.

As part of a comprehensive communications program, we produced Move Bulletins, presented Pre-Move Briefings to all employees, developed a Relocation Handbook, and responded to L&W questions and concerns raised via the e-mail Move Hotline.

M/A provided on-site move supervision for two pre-moves for Docket, Document Production, the Library and Central Files, as well as the main move for all personnel.

We staffed a Post-Move Welcome Desk following the move to facilitate the settlement of Latham & Watkins personnel into their new environment. M/A developed a Post-Move Punch List, and reviewed and approved all move-related vendor invoices.

M/A also provided a bar-coded furniture and equipment inventory using our proprietary Asset Tracking Database (ATD) and provided the data to L&W as a long-term facilities management tool.
